Jerry Zaks’ Who Do You Love Film to Reach Theaters in Spring 2010
Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks’ new film Who Do You Love will open in theaters beginning in March and April of next year.
The film, written by Peter Wortmann and Bob Conte, presents an intimate look into the lives of Leonard and Phil Chess, the founders of Chess Records. It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2008.
The cast features Alessandro Nivola, Jon Abrahams, Robert Randolph, Keb’ Mo’, David Oyelowo, Chi McBride, Megalyn Ann Echikunwoke, and Marika Dominczyk. The film features a score steeped in hits from the Chess Records canon including Muddy Waters’ “Stuff You Gotta Watch,” Etta James’ “At Last,” and Bo Diddley’s “Who Do You Love.”
Finally, a year later, we get a trailer! Lisa is not in the trailer but she is in the movie, playing Sheva Chess, Leonard Chess’ brother Phil’s wife.

There still isn’t a specific release date but the movie seems to be getting more and more press these days! I’ll keep you posted.
There will be two screenings of Who Do You Love next weekend at the Berkshire International Film Festival.
